After researching the long and short of it...here at Carson Standard Poodles we've decided that we will leave our puppies the way God made them. Once people get used to a long, beautiful tail they won't go back! Let's stop causing un-necessary pain and suffering to tiny puppies and adult dogs, and fight against animal cruelty. Our vet told me recently that removing dew claws is as un-necessary as docking tails, and that dew claws are a dog's thumbs. I have since heard that the dew claws are helpful when a dog does agility- to help them dig in and hang on!
